What Is Mental Health?

When we talk about mental health, we’re talking about our mental well-being: our emotions, our thoughts and feelings, our ability to solve problems and overcome difficulties, our social connections and our understanding of the world around us.

Having positive mental health allows people to realise their full potential, cope with the daily stressors of life, work productively and maintain healthy relationships.

We all have mental health just as we all have physical health.

Just because you have good mental health doesn’t mean you will be happy 100% of the time but it will mean that you will be more resilient in the face of adversity. It is the same as physical health even though you may be healthy you may still get the flu or another medical condition but be able to fight it off better due to your health.
